FAQs

  • The length of repair procedures depends on several factors. These include:
    • The type of service being performed – some types of procedures require more steps to perform
    • The expertise of the technicians at your repair center – depending on the repair needed, the repair center may need to send your equipment to another center or return to the factory, adding travel time to the length of the repair
    • Parts availability – your repair center may need to order specific parts to complete the procedure
  • Recommendations:
    • When selecting a service center for your needs, make sure to ask up front for a time estimate
    • See more at the FAQ about selecting a service center below

When choosing a service center, it’s important to do your research to find the shop that meets your needs. First, select a RIDGID Authorized Repair Center to ensure technicians have the skills needed to perform repairs on your equipment. Inquire about pricing, turnaround time, the shop’s repair warranty, and parts availability at multiple shops to select the right service center for you.

Each SeeSnake and SeekTech product is covered under the RIDGID Full Lifetime Warranty, offering you reassurance that you’re covered for any issues in workmanship or material. When you bring your equipment in for service, check to see what kind of repair warranty is offered with the center to ensure you’re covered in the event of any problems with repair quality.

You can buy the parts to reterminate a SeeSnake push cable. However, we recommend against it for the following reasons:

  • Special tooling, materials, processes, and training is required to maintain electrical and mechanical performance with heavy use.
  • The termination anchors the assembly consisting of the spring, camera, and sonde to the push cable; if done incorrectly, the spring assembly could detach with heavy use.
  • To ensure the procedure is performed correctly, find a RIDGID Authorized Service Center and find a center that specializes in push cable retermination.

We do not recommend doing this as you could further damage the cable. The only way to permanently repair a kinked push cable is to have a service center cut and reterminate the cable.

No. The cable is under tension and will uncoil violently if not handled carefully, which could potentially injure you and cause damage to the cable. Instead, you have options for replacing a push cable:

  • Order the spare cable and send it to a service center along with your SeeSnake camera system to have it reterminated.
  • Order it factory terminated and ready to install.

Yes, most SeeSnake camera systems can be upgraded to include TruSense.

    • Requirements:
      • New TruSense-enabled camera head
      • New TruSense counter (or hub board for Compact series reels and the rM200)
      • A CSx series monitor – required for access to TruSense-enabled features

To determine whether an upgrade is right for you, consider the condition of your current system. It may be more cost-effective to purchase a new system.
